La blog etiquette dicta que en la vispera de Noche De Brujas todos los bloggers hacen gala de su frondoso conocimiento de la cultura pop y dedican uno o mas posts al terror y lo oculto.
Como no me gusta ser maleducado aqui va un tema de Yan Treggen incluido en Bloodnight un compilado que reune algunas de las mas terrorificas bandas de sonido del genio del gore Lucio Fulci.

Disco Uno Cero Uno

Fue sorprendente enterarse a fines del año pasado que el legendario Andy Hernandez, mas conocido como Coati Mundi, volvía al ruedo luego de 30 años de ausencia con el single No More Blues y de la mano del sello Rong. Pero lo mas increíble vino luego cuando se anuncio que No More Blues  era solo el single adelanto de un nuevo LP con material original llamado "Dancing for The Cabana Code in The Land of Boo-Hoo".
El disco sera editado el próximo 14 de Octubre y cuenta con la colaboración de Lee Douglas.

At the end of 2009 we were surprsied when we heard that the legendary Andy Hernandez, better known as Coati Mundi, was back into music production after 30 years with a new single named No More Blues, released by Rong. 
But the most incredible news came later when it was announced that No More Blues  was just the first single of "Dancing for The Cabana Code in The Land of Boo-Hoo": a new Coati Mundi album with original material.
The record will be released on October 14th and has collaborations from Lee Douglas.

El disco contiene 13 camciones ineditas. Una de ellas es este fantástico track firmado por Filthy Luka, alias usado por el DJ y productor Luke Howard. quien también forma parte del proyecto Horse Meat Disco.
Brotherhood es una edición limitada de 500 CDs y puede ser comprado desde el site de Honey Soundsystem.

Six months ago the San Francisco's DJ collective Honey Soundsystem put out a great compilation named Brotherhood.
The record has 13 previously unreleased and rare tunes. One of them is an awesome song by Filthy Luka, an alias used by the DJ and producer Luke Howard. who's also part ot the Horse Meat Disco project.
Brotherhood is a 500 copies limited edition CD and can be purchased via the Honey Soundsystem site.
Go get one!

Invitation

Esta hipnótica canción fue seguramente un gran hit en un universo paralelo.
Se llama Invitation y fue grabada por el duo aleman Saada Bonaire en 1984.
El track forma parte del, creo yo, unico 12" editado por estas chicas.
Los 3 temas que componen el disco son impecables y fueron producidos por el gran Dennis Bovell.

This hypnotic slow motion disco tune was surely a big hit in a parallel universe.
It's called Invitation and it was recorded by the German duo Saada Bonaire in 1984.
This song is part of the, I think, only 12" released by these girls. All the three tracks in the record are excellent and were produced by the great Dennis Bovell.

Discomix

En 1980 el productor holandés Paul Natte mas conocido como Danny Boy edito su primer single llamado Repper De Klep. La canción era básicamente un cover del hit disco de Joe Bataan Rap-O-Clap pero con vocals en holandés.
Repper De Klep fue un éxito en Europa y motivo a Danny Boy a lanzar su segundo single en 1983, llamado Discomix.
El track no tuvo la repercusión esperada y con el pasar del tiempo se convirtió en un "collectors item".
Aqui les dejo la version con vocals. Todo en esta canción es oro puro: los sintes, la linea de bajo en plan electro y, por supuesto, el rapeo.
La calidad del rip es horrible, mil disculpas de antemano. Si alguien tiene una versión mejor, y tiene ganas de compartirla por favor hágamelo saber.

In 1980 Dutch producer Paul Natte aka Danny Boy released his first single called Repper De Klep which was a cover version of Joe Bataan’s disco hit Rap-O-Clap with dutch vocals.
The track was an "eurohit" and encouraged him to release a second single called Discomix in 1983.
The track didn't succeed and became some kind of "collectors item" with the time.
Here's the vocal version. All in it is pure gold: the lush synths, the electro bassline and, of course, the cheesy rapping.
The rip quality is terrible so, sorry in advance for that. If you have a better version and want to share it. please let me know.

El inquieto (y regalero :) duo de Brooklyn Wolf+Lamb colgó en el site de su label homónimo un LP de descarga gratuita con 6 edits firmados por el talentoso Nicolas Jaar.

Helsinki's Jaakko Eino Kalevi released his first LP named Modern Life. The album is a big salad full of electrofunk, space electronica, new wave and various eccentricities.

Ok ok... it's been a while since my last REAL post, but I'll try to make it up to you.
Here´s a triple post with some tracks I`ve been listening in the last weeks.

The latest release from Flashback records is the new EP from the mysterious Wild Geese which contains in its A side this awesome "new wave becomes acid" edit called Touch.

Secondly here's the hypnotic remix that Nicolas Jaar done for Ellen Allien's single Flashy Flashy.

The last track comes form the latest edtion of the 6th Borough Project edit series and its named Closer. Spotless, as all the 6BP reworks.

Vacation

I'm Not Scared

Eighth Wonder, la banda pop de los hermanos Jamie y Patsy Kensit, tuvo mucho éxito a mediados de los 80s.
Algunos de sus hits fueron compuestos por la creme de los compositores de esa época. Entre ellos se encontraban Neil Tennant y Chris Love, mas conocidos como Pet Shop Boys, quienes les compusieron I'm Not Scared.
El tema tuvo un gran éxito, sobre todo en Italia, quizas haya sido por su sonido italo.
Aqui les dejo una gloriosa dub version del increible DJ y productor italiano SirBilly.

Eighth Wonder, the pop group formed by the brothers Jamie y Patsy Kensit, had huge success during the second half of the 80s. Some of their hits were composed by the creme of the songwtters of that time. One of them was the duo formed by Neil Tennant y Chris Love, better known as Pet Shop Boys. They wrote I'm Not Scared. The song was a big hit, mostly in Italy, maybe because of its Italo-esque sound
Here's a glorious dub version made by the always awesome DJ and producer SirBilly.

Digging KZA

El japones KZA, miembro de Force Of Nature y famoso por su extensa colección de discos, edito a fines de 2009 su opera prima llamada Dig And Edit , disco en el cual compila algunos de sus trabajos lanzados anteriormente en EPs de edición ultra limitada mas algunos estrenos.
Los tracks están claramente basados en samples o melodías de otras canciones, aunque siempre con producción adicional cortesía de Kuniyuki.
Aquí va el tema que cierra el disco, una especie de versión lenta del hipnótico clásico de Severed Heads: Dead Eyes Opened.

KZA - Open Up (Slow Version)

Japanese producer, half of Force Of Nature and well known by his huge record collection, KZA released at the end of 2009 his debut album named Dig And Edit. The record compiles some of his previous works, only available in ultra limited EPs plus some new ones.
The tracks are clearly based on samples and melodies from other songs, although in all of them there's some additional production courtesy of Kuniyuki.
Here's the closing track. A kind of slow version of the Severed Heads classic Dead Eyes Opened.

Balearic Biscuits (sublabel de Music For Dreams) edito en 2009 este fantástico EP con 3 reedits... ( reworks... remixes... ya no se como llamarlos) de Peter Visti, quien para la ocasión cambió de lugar un par de letras en su nombre y si se convirtió en Veter Pisti!
El lado A contiene un remix del "Fagget Fayrs" canción de la que no pude averiguar absolutamente nada.
El lado B tiene un edit de Being Boiled, original de Human League, y el tema que les dejo a continuación: una muy "baleárica" versión de Foreign Affair de Mike Oldfield, con unos pequeños toques de Mammagamma de Alan Parsons.

In 2009 Music For Dreams' sub-label Balearic Biscuits released a fantastic EP containing 3 reedits... (reworks...? remixes...? you name it) done by Peter Visti, who swapped a pair of letters in his name to become Veter Pisti for the ocasion!.
Side A contains a remix of "Fagget Fayrs", a totally unknown track for me (feel free to enlighten me in the comments ares :)
Side B has an edit of Human League's Being Boiled, and the track I am posting: a "balearified" version of Mike Oldfield's Foreign Affair with some tiny Alan Parson's Mammagamma interventions.
