Mistral fue un proyecto disco del productor holandes Robbie van Leeuwen, quien también es conocido por su banda filo hippie Shocking Blue.

Los Mistral tuvieron una corta vida y un par de hits. Aquí les dejo la que para mi es su mejor canción: Starship 109 y como bonus una espeluznante presentación del grupo en TV.

Mistral was a disco project created by the dutch producer Robbie van Leeuwen, who is also know for his hippie band Shocking Blue.
Mistral was a short living group and had a few hits. Here's Starship 109, IMO their best song. and as a bonus a mind blowing Mistral performance on TV.

El label Light Sounds Dark y el duo de coleccionistas y crate diggers Pyschemagic se unieron para editar un ambicioso e interesantisimo doble LP llamado After The Void en el que sacan a la luz oscurisimas joyitas solo conseguibles anteriormente a precios exhorbitantes.
Desgraciadamente Enter The Void esta ot of stock en la mayoria de los web stores, asi que apurate a conseguir uno.

The Light Sounds Dark label teamed with the collectors and crate diggers duo Psychemagik in order to create an ambitious and interesting double LP called After The Void in which they bring to light some obscure gems previously only available on high priced and hard to get copies.
Unofortunately Enter The Void is quickly becoming out of stock in most of the webstores so you better hurry up to get one.
Here are two tracks included in the compilation: Moonwalk, a robofunk from Gift Of Dreams and the spooky Ostafrika from the german Die Partei.

Disco Uno Cero Uno

Fue sorprendente enterarse a fines del año pasado que el legendario Andy Hernandez, mas conocido como Coati Mundi, volvía al ruedo luego de 30 años de ausencia con el single No More Blues y de la mano del sello Rong. Pero lo mas increíble vino luego cuando se anuncio que No More Blues  era solo el single adelanto de un nuevo LP con material original llamado "Dancing for The Cabana Code in The Land of Boo-Hoo".
El disco sera editado el próximo 14 de Octubre y cuenta con la colaboración de Lee Douglas.

At the end of 2009 we were surprsied when we heard that the legendary Andy Hernandez, better known as Coati Mundi, was back into music production after 30 years with a new single named No More Blues, released by Rong. 
But the most incredible news came later when it was announced that No More Blues  was just the first single of "Dancing for The Cabana Code in The Land of Boo-Hoo": a new Coati Mundi album with original material.
The record will be released on October 14th and has collaborations from Lee Douglas.

Seis meses atrás, el colectivo de DJs de San Francisco Honey Soundsystem edito un gran compilado llamado Brotherhood.
El disco contiene 13 camciones ineditas. Una de ellas es este fantástico track firmado por Filthy Luka, alias usado por el DJ y productor Luke Howard. quien también forma parte del proyecto Horse Meat Disco.
Brotherhood es una edición limitada de 500 CDs y puede ser comprado desde el site de Honey Soundsystem.

Six months ago the San Francisco's DJ collective Honey Soundsystem put out a great compilation named Brotherhood.
The record has 13 previously unreleased and rare tunes. One of them is an awesome song by Filthy Luka, an alias used by the DJ and producer Luke Howard. who's also part ot the Horse Meat Disco project.
Brotherhood is a 500 copies limited edition CD and can be purchased via the Honey Soundsystem site.
Go get one!

Invitation

Esta hipnótica canción fue seguramente un gran hit en un universo paralelo.
Se llama Invitation y fue grabada por el duo aleman Saada Bonaire en 1984.
El track forma parte del, creo yo, unico 12" editado por estas chicas.
Los 3 temas que componen el disco son impecables y fueron producidos por el gran Dennis Bovell.

This hypnotic slow motion disco tune was surely a big hit in a parallel universe.
It's called Invitation and it was recorded by the German duo Saada Bonaire in 1984.
This song is part of the, I think, only 12" released by these girls. All the three tracks in the record are excellent and were produced by the great Dennis Bovell.

Ok ok... it's been a while since my last REAL post, but I'll try to make it up to you.
Here´s a triple post with some tracks I`ve been listening in the last weeks.

The latest release from Flashback records is the new EP from the mysterious Wild Geese which contains in its A side this awesome "new wave becomes acid" edit called Touch.

Secondly here's the hypnotic remix that Nicolas Jaar done for Ellen Allien's single Flashy Flashy.

The last track comes form the latest edtion of the 6th Borough Project edit series and its named Closer. Spotless, as all the 6BP reworks.

Su primer proyecto, y por el cual se hizo conocido, se llamó Albatros.
La música de Albatros va desde el disco hasta las baladas épicas y cinematográficas influenciadas por el maestro Morricone.

Aquí les dejo el super extended mix firmado por Tom "Dios" Moulton de "Moon Boots", tema de los alemanes Orlando Riva Sound, mas conocidos como ORS.

Se acaba de editar un doble single conteniendo esta joya y mixes alternativos de "Body To Body", el otro single de la banda.

Alla por 1977 la banda de folklore chilena Los Jaivas edito Cancion Del Sur, disco en el que incorporó por primera vez sintetizadores analogicos y experimentó con la musica disco, omnipresente por aquel entonces.
Aqui dejo dos canciones resultantes de esta rara combinación entre folklore sudamericano y el afro disco neoyorkino.

I always have the feeling that Fatback Band doesn't have the recognition they deserve.

This is my humble tribute to them with two truly funk monsters.

The first one is the classic "Do the Bus Stop" which named a popular damce move during the disco era.

The second one is a "Midnight Freak" edit done by the master Lee Douglas and included in the Volume 3 of the Blackdisco's edit series.

Voice Of Taurus de Bruno Spoerri es un disco especial para freaks de los sintetizadores. Una gran cantidad de maquinas y excentricidades analogicas varias fueron usadas para este LP.

Aqui les dejo dos de sus temas mas "terrenales": "Hymn Of Taurus", una extraño proto electro que abre el disco y "Hallo World", una especie de space disco revisitado en 2006 por Soft Rocks.

Voice of Taurus en version vinilo es toda una rareza, afortunadamente el sello Inzec tuvo la idea de relanzarlo aunque solo digitalmente.


Bruno Spoerri's Voice Of Taurus is a great record for synth freaks. Lots of machinery and analog excentricities were used for this LP.

Here are two of its most "terrestrial" tracks: "Hymn Of Taurus", a strange proto electro tune that opens the record and "Hallo World", kind of space disco revisited in 2006 by Soft Rocks.

This vinyl is quite a rarity. Fortunately Inzec Records had the idea of re issuing it, only in digital format though.

"Love Honey, Love Heartache", del "power trio" Man Friday, fue un himno de las excitantes noches del Paradise Garage.
En 2004, conmemorando el 25 aniversario de esta obra maestra, Vinylmania editó una edición especial con remixes y tomas inéditas hasta ese momento.
La versión que les dejo es la de Tom Moulton. Una joya de 10 minutos con una segunda mitad espacial increible en la que se puede ver el embrión de lo que surgiria 7 años despues: el house.
